First week in Finland!

Hi! I’m Aina and I arrived in Finland 4 days ago.

I live at 15 min approximately from the centre of Helsinki, in Välimerenkatu. It’s a new building.

This first week I’m working in Mercuria School and the next weeks I’ll work at shop.

The weather is very cold, and all day it’s cloudy.  I only can the sun for about 3 minutes a day.

On Monday Jordi, Laia, Montse and I went to visit Suomenlinna. This is an island nearby the center of Helsinki. We took a ferry and in 15-20 min we were in Suomenlinna!. The houses in the island are very interesting, I like them!

When we arrived to the city after visiting the island, we went for a walk in Helsinki and we saw the Helsinki cathedral! Later on we went to have dinner to the Vapiano Restaurant.

I’ll tell you much more next week!

HI FINLAND!!

Hi, I'm Jordi and I am going to explain what we have been doing since we arrived.

Sunday morning we woke up really early at about 6:00 AM because we had to take the plane.
When we arrived to the airport and the cheking was done we bid farewell to our parents.
And finally we took the plane to Finland!

The trip was really quiet without any problems, we had been there for 4 hours!

When we picked up our luggage we just walked trough the exit door and we saw our familys waiting for us.

In my case, my finish brother (Hiob) was there and picked me up and took me to his house which is located in Vantaa in the town of Hiekkaharju.

His family is really lovely and they have been taking care of me since I arrived. They gave me gloves ,a housecoat and wool socks and  showed me their fantastic house! They also gave  the lunch, a succulent meat, tasty potatoes and a pie with red berries.

The first thing I did after finishing to tidy all my clothes and having ate the delicious lunch was to walk with Hiob to buy milk in the supermarket which is 2 kilometers away, during this little trip he showed me the important places of Hiekkaharju like the train, the bus stop, the gym, and other places that I can see in the town.

And that was my first day in Finland!
