Another Wednesday more!!

Hello again!!!!

Today at work, as every Wednesday, am Assistant Chef, and I've been in the kitchen all morning doing dumplings, bread... If I say the  truth I am very happy with my work because every day I do something different and not get bored me!!


This afternoon, we went to buy tickets to go to Lapland the next weekend ,will  go by train and there are  13 hours so we will sleep on the train two nights, we go on Friday, 8th of April and will return on 10th of April! We are thrilled and excited, because we are taking advantage of this experience to know more sites a part of Helsinki! Good at least that try, since we adapt to our free time and money... Here everything is very expensive!

And good... These days we have not done many interesting things, but I leave you some pictures I have of these last days. See you the next week!!!!

Tuesday, return to routine

Hello,

Today was the first day after Easter Holiday, so boring and tiring. So today we didn't do anything interesting, we went to Forum (shopping center) and we bought some souvenirs and then we went to Kamppi, another shopping center and we waited for Mar's bus, and Monica, Laia, Enric and I we left with the metro, but Gerard left alone to his bus stop. So we left early today because we're hungry and tired.

THE FINAL EASTER DAY

I hope you had a good Easter holiday!!

Today we had met all in the center, particularly in Kamppi. And once we were all, we went to eat to the buffet Picnic. We had never been there before and we wanted to try something new.

After a while we had stayed there, when we finished eating, we wanted to enjoy this sunny day and we decided to go to Taka-Töölö, located on the outskirts of Helsinki. Once there we went to visit the monument: "Sibeliuksenpuisto".

We have stayed a while in this area and we have made many photos.

Each on his own...

As Spain, here is Eastern so, every family celebrates with her Spanish Sisters, for instance, Aina goes with Katri in her town, she has been in "Punkaharju", she also went to the typical sauna, she painted some eggs, she do some snow bike...

Gerard has been in the town of his brother, and her family invited Monica! Their went to see and important hockey match, their makes a lots of photos on the lake that was frozen, and also their did the sauna.

Mar, Enric and me (Laia), stay toguether, and we went to the Museum of Fashion Design because the weather was very fog, so we can't visit any monument...

Today,Sunday, Aina actually is in her town with Katri, I think that their will come tomorrow. Gerard and Monica their here today, so Monica and me we are going to sleep in Mar house.
While Mar and me,  have been waiting Monica that comes from the town, we ate in a restaurant "Picnic" that was very cool, but expensive...

Now, Mar is cooking some pasta for us!

The start of The Easter Holidays

After a day with a lot of movement and some new experiences like the visits of the Temppeliaukion Kirkko or the Museum of Contemporary Art of Helsinki it arrives the Easter Holidays.

Four days that we have ahead which we're going to enjoy and always we're going to use for rest before this next week that some colleagues of Sokos advertise to us that is going to be so hard. It's for this that we use this first day for rest a little but each one in a different way.

This morning Aina arrived at Katri's vacation house that it's in Punkaharju where they are enjoying a lot and they tried the sauna. Mar, Monica and Gerard had met in Vantaa where they visited different places and then they came to the center of Helsinki and they had some dinner. Finally Laia and I rested a little in the morning but in the afternoon I went to visit some places that are near Hakaniemi.

Laia's birthday

Hello, today was Laia's birthday, we've gone to our workplace until 13:00, after that, we went to Temppeliaukion Kirkko, that is like a church inside one big stone.

There were 4 persons singing, and playing the piano. After that, we have gone to the Modern Art Museum, but it was little and we saw all like in 30 minutes.

Then, we have gone to the Itis Shopping Center, next to it, there was a Piercing and Tattoo shop, and Laia has done the tongue piercing.

When it finish, we come to Enric and Laia's apartment, and we did a little surprise to she, with a mini-cake, and a little detail.

This was our experience today!

Today..skating time!!!

This is my second week in Helsinki and I am very happy with me because I can go where I want by myself!!! This id very important for me, because the first days I was so scared to don't know go alone in this city!
Yesterday, we were buying some souvenirs with my friends and I love buy somethings!!!!

Today,  at morning I was working a lot!!!! At the nitght when I come to home I am really very tired because in all the moments I do somethings and maybe because I wake up to early.. And this afternoon we were skating on ice, in the center of Helsinki!! This experience was so funny!!

Fazer Factory and other fun things!!

Hello!!

Today we have a fun day, in the morning at 9:00 we go went to the Fazer chocolate factory with the Helmi tutors, first we walked through a corridor with history of Fazer and in the end of the corridor there was a tasting point where you eat all the chocolate you want, and then we take some photos with Helmi tutors.

Then this afternoon Monica, Mar and I went to buy some souvenirs for the family and friends, later at 13:20 we went to search the Sokos guys and we eat in McDonalds some salad and burgers.

When we finish we went to Töölönlahti and see the frozen sea, and we take some photos too, but today it´s so cold and we went to Sanomatalo and we watch some things of The Voice of Finland!! And we met some man called Daniel Sanz and he is from Tenerife, so we talk with him and he is semifinalist in the competition and thanks to him, we met the coaches of the program and it was so fun!!

AFTER A WEEK

Hello again everyone!!

It seems incredible but it has been a week ... And the truth is that it could not be better. Here I put some photos of this weekend:

After a weekend very entertaining and don't stop doing activities, arrives on Monday again.

Today was a simple but nice day, because when I left home to go to work it was snowing a lot. And since I have a long way to get to work I could see the landscape and the truth that was beautiful with all the snow.

I'm so excited to be here!!!

Once I reached my job, now I've done has been: first organize all the store, the latter has been open all the packages had arrived, third set prices for all products and fourth put all the  products on your site.

When I left work I went to Helsinki Central Station where I've meet with my friends there. Then we took the metro and we stopped in Itäkeskus because today we've been in ITIS. It has five floors, with the shops and other comercial services where you could go and eat there. We stayed there here until 7 o'clock because all of us where so tired.

As you can see we had some fun there like always hahaha

Travelling to Tallin!

Our first weekend here, we have decided to do some excursion, so we have gone to Tallin! 

We had to get up early around 6 / 7 am. When we go out de street, we were at -7º!! It was a really cold day, could you imagine...

We had to take the boat at 9am. We have 4 hours until arrive to Tallin, it was a very long morning, but we stay at the theatre, and we saw some show of magic, we stay there the 4 hours of the route. 

We have been decided to go Tallin, because Finland sister told us that the prices there are so cheaper, so we want to go shopping. But the truth, is that for us (the spanish) were the same prices as Spain, and in some shops a little more expensive...Only is cheaper the tobacco that was arround3.50€ and the alcohol. 

We go aboard at 5pm, and it was the same, 4hours to arrive to Helsinki. 

We only stay 3 hours in Tallin, so we can't visit nothing of the city, we were only in the shopping mall, but maybe another weekend, we will go to see some important places of Tallin.

When we arrive at Helsinki, we went to eat some big pizzas.

The First snow

After six days here, this morning we've seen that all was white and this was possible because during the night it was snowing. We were very impressed because we normally don't see so much snow. But this morning the way to the different companies that we go, was more complicated because we've some slides with the ice.

After some slides that we have we started the different tasks of work. Gerard, Laia and me started at 7 o'clock on the morning where we put all the make ups at his place. After that we had a break that was around middle hour. Before this break Gerard and me we put  different products at his place at the receptions of the different floors. Meanwhile Laia was puting the prices. And finally when Gerard and I have already finshed we help her until 1 o'clock.

After this Gerard, Laia and I came to the hostel and we did our lunch and after that we did some homework. Then at 15:30 we've met with Monica, Mar, Aina and some of the students of Helmi included Katri and Kaisa. We went to the Helsinki National Museum and it was like a hystorical museum with many items about the different periods of the history.

Our second day working

UToday it's our second day at work, I work at Sokos, wih Enric and Laia, and it's like a finnish «El corte inglés».

First of all, our jorney begins at 7:00 o'clock, and we finish at 13. When we arrive there, we have to go to our locker room, and leave all the clothes to put our Soko's uniform.

Then, we go to the first floor, there are the make up products, and we have to put it at the correct site.
We have to do this until our break at 9:00, until 9:24.

When the break finish, we go to the second or third floor, those are about clothes, the first day we were putting the clothes in order by size, from S to XXL, that's boring!!!!

Today we've been putting the prices on the clothes, we've got a good time and we enjoy it, that's more funny!

Then we have another break at 11 to have lunch, but.. well, we prefer to have lunch at 13 when we finish.

Today we've lunch some junk food at McDonald's, and then we go to Enric's room on the Hostl to review our accountancy exercises.
At 4:30, we have met with Mar, Monica, Aina and a few minutes later with Mr. Galvez, who leaves tomorrow.
Now it's a little bit different, because we are alone here, but I think we'll survive.

Our first day at work

Our first day at work was very strange, because we didn´t know who is the boss and something.

Today Mr Galvez teached three hours of spanish class in Mercuria School, and this night the teacher goes to dinner with Mr Jarno.

Gerard, Laia and Enric work in Sokos, they had a meet at 14:00,  then Mar Leon today worked from 12:00 to 15:00, the boss explained what does she do this month and Mar checked that all the products are good and in the right places.

Finally Monica and I go to work in Neste Oil Metsälä and Malmi, we work from 9:00 to 15:00, Monica is working in the kitchen of gas station and cleaning something, and I´ve done a lot of things, for example products replenish, cleaning the machines, and other things.

OUR FIRST DAY

Meri was waiting me at airport because Teresa was in Turkey so she took me with her and we went together to Teresa's home. Meri was keeping company to me until Teresa came back.

At first in the morning we went to Helmi Business College and had a presentation. Teresa and Meri explains us more about this school and they give us a schedule for activities that we have during our stay. We also had "korvapuusti" which is cinnamon bun in English and some juice. Then Monica, Aina and me Mar introduced ourselves with german girls. After that we had tour around the school and we saw the cafe, the gym, library, some classroom, guys playing "salibandy" which is pretty traditional thing in Finland, computer class... In the library we met a guy who could talk catalan. 

We had lunch together at the school and we eat pasta.

Teresa and I left school and took a train and a bus to my work in kauppakeskus Kaari (Shopping centre Kaari), then I met the manager and we talked about my schedule and some things that I have to do there. After that we took a bus to central Helsinki and we bought HSL bus and SIM card for me.

Then we walked a little bit around the city and I saw the Helsinki cathedral and Esplanade, after that we took a bus back home.

When we came back I met Teresa's grandparents and set up my SIM card. 

In the afternoon I met with my friends, so it was my first time that I go from my home to central Helsinki Teresa came with me and show me the road. We met with Aina, Monica, Laia, Enric, Gerard, my teacher Oriol and two Finnish girls. We went all together to Helsinki cathedral, Johan Sederholm's House, Presidential Palace and Esplanade. After sightseeing we went to have a dinner in Vapiano and we eat some pasta and pizzas. 

Kaisa took me to Kamppi where I took the bus back home by my self. I was nervous because it was the first time that I took a bus alone but I found back home.
